Hahahaha. .exe files don't work on my iMac... 

 Don't be too sure.  When the IBM PC was released I wrote a simple
assembly lang. utility that was designed to work on several
different CPUs.  The first few opcodes had to be carefully chosen,
but the end result was that when executed, control would transfer to
the part of the program specific to the executing CPU.  iMacs may
not recognize .exe files, but ve haf vays to mekk zem cooperate, and
zen you be Stewed.

You don't know anything about computer programming. The Operating System has to know what the file is, and what kind of executable file, before loading the file into memory in a particular way. Since iMac doesn't know .exe, it simply doesn't load the file.
