I hate to ask the obvious but, you are putting a "Card" in the "Card Reader" right?
 
How are you getting the picts off the card?  If you create directories every time, just go to one of the directories (folders) right click and choose "copy".
 
go to "My Computer" > "X:drive" ("drive letter for your card reader").  Double Click to open the drive.  Right click in the window and choose paste.
 
That should do it...

Would someone be so kind as to tell me how to take pictures off my computer
and transfer them to a  card reader? Windows 98 system with a Lexar USB2.0
card reader. Taking off the card is easy just don't know how to go the other
way.
