Have you ever had to provide technical
support/maintenance/upgrades/upkeep/repair to a full company of home-built
systems??
I have.
It's a nightmare.
Large businesses whose sole function is NOT I.T. do not typically have the
time/resources/expertise to fiddle around with piecemeal systems. They need
standardization for reasons that have NOTHING WHATEVER to do with laziness,
ignorance or apathy.

Stupid?
