Silly, and inaccurate statement. From one who has owned several HP printers in the past 10 years, without any trouble with any of them. I have also owned 5 HP computers, no trouble with any of them either. Your bias is showing.

I've worked on a lot of HP stuff through the years.

Their computers are junk, using cheap, proprietary parts throughout.

Actually, one of the big advantages of HP PCs versus units from some other companies, is that they _don't_ use proprietary components. One of their competitors went so far as taking a standard motherboard and swapping two pins on the power connector so owners couldn't do upgrades of the motherboard themselves. Of course this also required swapping the same two pins on the power supply connector. What ended up happening was a lot of blown motherboards when the owner tried to replace a defective power supply.

Their printers were once the best, then they went through a period
where they were garbage and now they're starting to come back. I still
wouldn't want to try to get an HP printer and scanner to work together
on the same system though.

One of the biggest advantages of HP's inkjet printers has also been one of the things that many people don't like--the print head is replaced along with the ink cartridges. On the competing models, you basically throw the printer away if the print head has a problem, because replacing the print head is prohibitively expensive.
