Look at Hyperdrive (in the USA) or CompactDrive PD70X (outside of the USA). It
is one of the fastest units around for copying files from the media to the
disk, and it runs on 4 AA batteries (unit includes a battery charger, though
previous units, it was better to use an external charger). I think people are
getting somewhere around 30-60 gigabytes transfered before the batteries run
out -- I have an older model CompactDrive PD6A, and it has been very fast and
I've never had the batteries run out. At the moment, the Hyperdrive doesn't
come with a disk, but you can easily install any laptop disk drive of the
appropriate size (look at newegg.com for disks):
