I will reinforce David's suggestion for Epson's storage device.
I would like, however, to point out that Epson has already introduced the
newer P-4000 which comes equipped with an internal 80 GB hard disk instead
of the 40 GB on the P-2000 model.
The P-4000 is also supposed to have improved performance for displaying
large RAW digital files as well as movies.
Although some may say that the device is a little on the expensive side
(currently $699 at both BH Photo and Epson's own web site), you pay for the
convenience. First it comes equipped with software that can read and display
images from all different RAW files, irrespective of what camera you have.
Second it has a beautiful 4", VGA resolution (640x480) screen that allows
you to review the images that you transfer from your memory cards to the
device's hard disk (certainly much better than reviewing images on the small
2" LCD screen most digital SLRs come equipped with). Last but not least it
has 80 GB worth of storage space. I just purchased a 4 GB SanDisk Extreme
III CF card for which I paid $ 424.00. I find it much easier to just have
one of these Epson storage devices than to invest in purchasing several of
these CF cards that offer a much more costly storage alternative in terms of
cost per GB.
Best regards,
Joseph
