D100 and Non AI Lenses

Could someone --knowledgable-- please help: I have a Nikon D100 and an
old 500mm Reflex Nikkor. After checking newsgroups I had the courage to
mount it and set the D100 to M. Took some great shots. Now after
reading a couple of 'expert' sites, ("Do Not Use") I'm worried. If the
lens mounts without forcing and takes pictures, can it damage the
camera? It is a non-AI lens, but as I said, mounted without force, and
took some great shots on Manual. Does anyone know for sure if this lens
can somehow damage the D100, and if so, how?
