I never noticed that all memory stick pro cards had magic gate written
on them. I saw some what I thought was non magic gate memory stick pro
cards yesterday (they were blue) - maybe because they were 256 MB which
I was going to get till I saw the one which was 512 mb's. The one I got
is black.

But didn't you say above that all memory stick pro cards had magic gate
from the start?
Or are you referring to Memory stick, rather than memory stick pro?
They are also

It seems that there is 460 Mb's on the card which is usable for digital
cameras. The rest is for
magic gate functions which camera users don't use. The Sony tech guy
said magic gate technology has a 4 pin parellel interface to connect
inside the camera, which the non magic gate does not. But magic gate
cards are faster reading and writing than non magic gate. In my view, I
think it might have been better if Sony had also made Memory stick pro
cards for cameras only as they did before and not added features which
digical camera users can't use. Oh well, they all do what they want :)
Thanks.
