Re: About Sony memory stick Pro - Magic Gate



You can ignore the Magic Gate feature unless you intend to use the card to
store encrypted commercial content, like music files. Magic Gate enables
such content to be played but not copied. It's irrelevent to digital camera
use.

Until last year, Sony had cards with and without Magic Gate, but they have
decided to standardise with Magic Gate since then. As far as I know, all
Sony branded Memory Stick *Pro* cards have had Magic Gate since they were
introduced. Pro cards, like yours, have a faster data interface and a much
higher data storage addressing limit than the old cards. So you can rest
assured you have the best spec. Sony Memory Stick card :)

When your card was introduced over two years ago, it cost something like 5x
the price you probably paid!
