Yes, leaving IS/VR on can actually hurt and image under some conditions. I
What would those circumstances be? I'm assuming that if I switch it
to active mode when I pan, normal when I want to keep the camera still
and off for a tripod I would be getting benefits of VR without hurting
anything.
don't use a tripod or monopod with my 70-200VR and VR hasn't been switched
on in years. Good hand holding techniques are much better than being sloppy
and using VR as a crutch hoping you'll get a few keepers.
If you haven't switched VR on in years with your 70-200VR, you wanna
trade? Your 70-200 for my 80-200? I'll make use of the VR.
