This, according to a guy who attended the PMA show in Toronto and
posted to the Fuji DSLR group on Dpreview. The remaining S5s will be
dumped off at $1000/ea. Interestingly, they decided not to release an
entry-level DSLR and instead released a smaller sensored superzoom at

This is the equivalent of my neighbour's uncle's friend said that he
overheard in the lunchroom. I'll wait until Fuji actually makes an
announcement. Rich/RichA always has his thumb up the ass of the Industry.
Uh, no it's not. Unless your uncle's friend was at the industry trade
show. What makes you think they'll formally announce anything rather
than quietly discontinuing production?
