Can the D300 be set to higher shutter speeds than 1/250s in auto-iso mode?

This is the fastest of the low threshold; if the light is not enough, the
camera will shift to higher ISO instead of using a slower speed. 1/250
should be fast enough for any auto mode. Unless you use a 600mm lens in
which case you would like to by-pass the auto function all together. But
that's just my opinion.
