your advice.

Which can you afford?
Which feels best in your hands?
Which can you carry all day?
Yes, both. My favorite lens is about 70-210, f/2.8.
Low light?
Yes, sometimes. I recently did a 5 minute exposure.
Well then get both!
If I get a D3 (or it's smaller future version) I'll be keeping my D200 for telephoto work, and for when I don't want to walk around in public with a huge behemoth. The big advantages of a D3 are ability to shoot in low light hand held and super wide angle like my 12-24 full frame Sigma: that would need an 8mm rectilinear lens on a D200/300 etc. which does not exist. Even 14mm rectilinear equivalent doesn't exist for crop frame. Lots of things don't exist like a 28mm f/1.4 (18mm/1.4).
And the 70-200/2.8 works like a 300/2.8 cropped so that's a big factor too.
