If I were to get a 2GB card for my 10MP XTi,
how many pictures would it roughly hold?
At least 150 - smoothly.
From my math, I came up with about 300-375.
Does that sound right?
Uh, probably. :)
Come back in a year and re-read your question. You'll then be appropriately
amused as you are asking for a definite answer for which there is none.
My 8MP 20D, equipped with a 2GB card, set to shoot RAW *AND*
highest-resolution/lowest compression JPG (huh?) shows about 155 available
exposures/frames when "empty".
With RAW turned off, with your camera and 2GB card, you'd be able to shoot
until well after the cows come home. Translation: You'd virtually never run
out of space.
A 2GB card for your new rig is probably ideal. A second one as a backup is
desirable. Have fun!
