Does anyone know the legalities of taking a DSLR to a stadium to a

I know pro sports leagues are extremly touchy about imaging rights etc and
whenever I'm in the states ( 49ers season ticket holder from england!) there
are thousands of peoples with regular point-and-shoot type cameras taking
pictures outside and INSIDE the stadium, I'm wondering if i'd be able to
make it into the stadium with a canon 400d ( and a 300mm telephoto lens)?
It probably varies from team to team, and you shouldn't have any
problem should you visit Yankee Stadium, at least for getting in
with a DSLR. Even though there aren't any lens requirements, a very
large one might be pushing things. My 75-300 lens isn't one of the
massive, large aperture beasties so I don't think it would present a
problem. Check your team's website for guidance. The first two
entries in the C-section of the guide for Yankee Stadium are :
CAMERAS & VIDEO EQUIPMENT
Single-frame flash photography is allowed. All forms of video
and motion-picture cameras are strictly prohibited. Guests are
also forbidden to use lighting or camera support pods at the
Stadium. Please note: Fans are not permitted to reproduce or
rebroadcast any film of Yankees games for commercial purposes
without the prior written permission of the Yankees and Major
League Baseball.
CELLULAR PHONES
The use of cell phones is prohibited in the Legends Suite behind
home plate. Cell phones are permitted everywhere else as long as
they don't interfere with other guests or the game.
