When Apple changed to Intel they immediately claimed that the Intel
chips were much faster than PowerPC.
It's not funny; both of those things are true. The PPC stuff was both
faster and more efficient at the time, but IBM failed to keep up, and
the Intel chips got faster (but still not really more efficient) while
PPC didn't. So Apple switched, since IBM wasn't getting it done and
wasn't showing much interest in getting it done, as they would rather
concentrate on other markets.
