It's funny you should mention that! I was just thinking that very thing,
brought on by a buddy's comment about a near macro shot I did with the 24-70
that came out very nice. It really isn't necessary to design in a "macro"
capability on a lot of lenses that claim that, even if they aren't even
close to truly macro capable. Skip that, and just concentrate on making the
lens the best it can be under normal circumstances.
