You shouldn't - the Corps of Engineers provides levees and flood
control dams all the way up the Mississippi to Illinois, all the
way up the Missouri to Wyoming and all the way up the Ohio River
Complex way past Pittsburgh. You benefit directly from every
dollar the Corps of Engineers spends on flood control, etc., of
the river complexes that drain more than two thirds of the
United States.....

Why would they build all those levees all over the place?

Navigation; keep the river in one place to make it easier &
cheaper for barge traffic.

That's odd... this Proconsul twit was trying to convince me levees
are built to protect neighborhoods full of people. My brother and
I both know that's bullshit. Levees were constructed for river
barges, not people.

That Proconsul twit clearly pointed out to you that the money spent
on FLOOD CONTROL benefits you directly - never made any comment
about people versus barges. If you don't think that flood control
benefits you directly, you're the twit......:)

This may come as a shock, but I don't care.

Permission granted.....:)

It must be quite a painful experience, finding oneself reduced to crossing swords with the denizens of a photo group, in an off-topic thread. Pearls before swine, innit?
