Honestly, if I had to IM or chat with anyone online using that 'shortcut'
typing, I'd be henpecking at the keyboard like a 7th grader in 1960's typing
class. I asked my 8th grader to look at and read her post and he just
laughed and shook his head. I asked, "do kids really type like that when you
chat on-line?" (I knew the answer because we're always in the room with him.
One computer household). The answer was, "not really." This is what leads me
to believe that we're not talking with an adult here in terms of the OP.
