i think my dog might b pregnant - is thier any way 2 tell without
bringing her 2 a vet.
Not to my knowledge. Dogs can have false pregnancies so really the only way
to know for sure is to either wait and see if she expands with pregnancy or
have an ultrasound done.
- does a dog have 2 have been in heat 2 b
pregnant?
Yes. If your dog shows signs of being in heat...bleeding, swollen vulva,
possible irritability...then you'll know whether she was just in heat or
not. If you've never seen your dog go through a heat cycle then its
possible she has silent heats with no bleeding and minimal swelling.
I read some of your other posts and wanted to say that if you can still
afford her spay procedure to have it done. Even if she is pregnant she can
be spayed. Obviously the puppies won't survive but an unplanned litter of
mixes is worse.
You can't care for them all and can't guarantee they'll all go to good homes
that'll keep them forever. The chances of one or more of them ending up in
a shelter one day and possibly euthanized is significant enough to try not
to risk it IMO.
If you do find that your dog is pregnant and cannot afford to terminate the
pregnancy then you may try contacting an all-breed rescue group (you can
find them at www.petfinder.org) to see if they can take a litter of puppies.
Your female may need a higher quantity of food if pregnant and while
nursing. You can google for breeding whelping complications for more info.
