My dogs parents were imported from Germany and are registered down to the number of teeth. When you deal with german breeds, you are dealing with some of the finest and purest breed dogs on the planet, so don't go referring to my dogs as doodle dogs, whatever the hell that is. There are backyard breeders, then there are breeders who breed for show, but that is a subject or later discussion, if you wish.
Okay, no offense, but German dogs aren't magically more "pure" or better than any other dogs. I've had Dobermans for 25 years. I've had and known American lines. I've known pure German dogs, I currently own 2 dogs of mixed German/American ancestry. While I personally love my German mix dogs and will choose to go European (but not necessarily German) again, that doesn't at all mean that all German dogs are great. In fact, a lot of German and European breeders sell their cull dogs over here to dupes for huge amounts of money. If I was looking at your dogs, I'd be asking what kind of titles and health tests those import parents have, not their Nationality.
As far as Eukenuba dog food...I wasn't aware that it was produced by IAMS. I will investigate and find out if it is indeed a better quality dog food. If so, I may change to it. I simply want the best.
I feed Euk Premium Performance. I like the coat, condition, muscling, and stamina I get on it. I have dogs who are sprinters--I do agility, rally, schutzhund. The needs of dogs such as Melinda's, who need to have tremendous endurance, is different.
A photo of Viva and Cala taken last summer, at that time Viva almost 8, Cala 3...
