A long time ago, when I was doing my undergrad work, I volunteered at the local VA hospital ER. During my break, I was helping one of the nurse's aide with her math skills so she could get her GED. The head nurse pulls me aside one day and goes 'Well, I wanted you to know that she's homosexual'. I must've looked totally puzzled, 'cause she went on to explain that she didn't want me to get hit on by a woman. As nice as it is to think that I'm so attractive to people of both genders that they just can't help hitting on me, my ego just isn't that big.

Other than her partner, I was the first person she told when she passed.
