Nessa's Harley

Just some comments to separate nice things about him from BS -
Harley has incredible potential and I am thrilled that his medical
issues have been addresses so successfully and can't wait to have him in
class again. While he has shyness/fear issues with people that have
very obviously been improved a great deal, he is very comfortable with
other dogs. During the few weeks he was able to attend classes in the
fall, I was happy to be able to offer some off leash play in a BASIC
class. That can only be done with totally suitable dogs of course and
we had a group in attendance one particular Saturday that could handle
that. We have a very large fenced area that allows us this kind of
flexibility, and despite a small variety of cyber-folks who seem to
think that I'm incredibly rigid in my training format (most of them
having never met me of course), I love being able to offer that kind of
variety to help dogs with some special needs.
I have no idea what the mix of dogs will be like for the June session,
but I'm sure Harley will meet a lot of new dogs and people that will
benefit his confidence.
As for the rest of Nessa's dogs, I like Hannah quite a bit, and was fond
of Bagel. We did some one-on-one work with them with resource guarding
(from each other), and the only way something like that happens is to
have an OWNER who asks for help and actually wants to fix a problem.
Kudos for Nessa for sticking it out through some rough times, and doing
what she needed to do to keep on going.
