Then why would you want non-vets to do it?

I think you are mistaking asking for input/advice with diagnosing.

If I'm not mistaken, vets go to school for a long time, and strangely
enough, among the many things they learn there is how to *properly*
diagnose medical and health issues, how to offer advice, etc.

To the best of my knowledge, no one here has ever done that.

I found
the colon cancer boards and the advice/input from the participants
incredibly useful.

Did you go there before or after the diagnosis of colon cancer?

The same with the kidney board (although it came too late
for Shelby) and this board too.

Did you go there before or after the diagnosis?

It isn't meant to be used as a substitute
rather as another resource.

Truthfully? I don't think so.

Again, I think you just enjoy worrying.

Why wouldn't you take advantage of every
resource available to you when confronted with a health problem?

Question: Would you ever take dog training advice from Paul Schoen?

Would you ever consider him a "resource"?

Well, expecting the folks here (however well intentioned they may be)
to properly diagnose your dog's possible health issues over the
Internet, is pretty much the same thing as asking Paul Schoen to help
you train your dog.
