That was an incredibly stupid thing for your sister to do. Cockatiels might
like to shower, but they may not like (or tolerate) the temperature at which
you run your shower. Not to mention, she nearly gave you a heart attack.
Apparently, cockatiels like to shower.
My mom has a whole bunch of birds - finches, budgies, love birds and
cockatiels. The finches bathe as often as you're willing to change their
water. The budgies seem kinda blase about it. Two of the love birds looove
the water, but the bossy, bitchy female hates it. Of the three cockatiels,
one didn't like water and would climb to get away; the other two would
spread their wings and turn their head into the water to get themselves good
and soaked.
Bats might be OK, but
maybe not.
I was okay with bats, until the sonar on one didn't work properly and it
ended up in my hair. That was traumatic. Almost as bad as trying to get a
lizard of my mom's hair.
