I haven't heard of that approach to HW testing, but it makes sense.
Similar-ish-ly, my old vet told me that I could rotate the animals when I applied Frontline (for fleas, anyway). She said that just one animal in the household at a time needs to be treated in order for all of them to benefit. This was when I first got Harriet, and she was crawling with fleas. I only had to treat her, and only once, in order to get rid of them, so I never tested the rotation theory.

Does it feel like more dogs than there actually are, when they come back from boarding?
