If I did that, my pets would never get named. Elliott went for
months before he got a name. And, actually, Polkadottie the cat
never *did* get a real name.

I had a cat once named "just kitty"// She was awesome but disappeared in a
tornado. The same one that lost my dog ( found her 3 days later!)

The last two pets I added were named before they set foot in my
house, and I think it worked out fine.

To the OP, if it were me, he'd probably end with a very unfluffy
name, like Angus. I'm also recently enamored of Lewis. The Cocker x
Poodle I had when I was a kid was named Miles, so I guess I've always
been a fan of un-cute, un-fluffy names.
