I do live in the 'burbs after all. Right off
a major highway. We don't get much in the way of "game".
Heh. I've told the story of our refuse workers collecting in the morning and running across turkeys, which they assumed were someone's (illegal) pets. They weren't. I haven't heard of any new sightings, but once it was noted that the turkeys were not pets, there was no need for further reports.
Our 'burb just made it to the "This Old House" website: http://www.thisoldhouse.com/toh/photos/0,,20208088_20473908,00.html
The city is a little unusual because we have a giant park system that borders us as well as a river on the west and a lake at the north. You don't have to go far to have weird visiting critters, including bald eagles.
One of my favorite features is that we seem to be rife with raptors. Very cool unless you have baby puppies outside, but then they were guarded by paranoid humans with brooms hovering over their x-pen at all times...
