Re: Parallels in training

Reading dog body language comes so naturally to me I'm hardly
aware of it. Yet, I cannot read the Chow. The first time I
realized that I was astounded. The next few times I paid
more attention and realized everything I knew about reading
dog body language did me no good when it comes to the Chow.

I'm the same way with Wirehaired Fox Terriers, at least I
thought I was. A friend has one and it's stayed here a couple
of times. There's no change of expression, no matter what's
going on: no different tail or ear set, no posture change, mouth
always held the same way - nothing.

Judging the other week, I saw another WFT playing with her
handler like a REAL DOG - lots of play posture, tail wagging
then stopping in anticipation, and other regular dog stuff. So
I played tug'n'toss with it for a bit and it was a pretty cool
dog. So much for an opinion based upon a sample size of one.
