Love Stan!

You've probably heard Stan. Really high, screechy wail? That's him.
Of course, he also barks and howls (has a very pleasant-sounding howl,
really), but that bone-jarring keening is our Stan. He's certainly a
very unique dog. Not only has he never had an accident in the house,
since day 1, but he has also come to a human and barked or otherwise
alerted to his need to go outside. This is a shy dog, less than 2
years old when we got him (greyhounds don't even get their brains
until age 3), straight from the track adoption kennel.

All those dogs look very happy. And BIG! And nice hole you have in your yard!

Thanks! Only 4 big dogs. But two big holes. We filled in all the
holes the spring before last and seeded, but dogs do need to dig so
when they started digging we convinced them to limit themselves to one
hole. This year it sort of got extended and what with human cancer
etc. nobody did anything about it. I think we'll do the whole
(hole, heh) thing over again next spring. Boomer was an incredible
digger and I always thought that the hole situation would improve when
he was gone, but boy was I wrong. There was actually a contest one
day, and it was a draw; greyhounds can dig faster, but huskies have
snowshoes that can move more earth.
