No, popular periodicals don't require much in verification.
That's why they're "popular." As opposed to scholarly.
The interesting thing in the periodicals, and in book publishing, is that there's no peer review before publication... the judgment of peers in these cases comes after publication.
You misunderstand how scholarly peer review works. The articles most certainly *are* reviewed prior to publication. Duh.
It may take a while but anyone who is serious about learning about anything (including dogs) will learn who is correct and who is foolish.
I have a good idea which side of the dividing line you lie on, and you aren't doing a whole lot to change my mind.
