wisdom in news:fLCQi.2972$K7.285@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx:
Didn't he comeI'm reminded of that one dog you had a couple years ago.
from Michigan or something?yep
Merlin is really a tough nut to crack. ;-)
But then, since I've had him I haven't had the time I did when Igot Gracie
either.
not even mentioning that span of taking care of
the wicked witch of the midwest for a couple months, and thenrupturing my
discs.
I wqas wondering how that went, and where is she now? I meant to
ask.
It *went* horribly. :( She constantly hit my dogs when ever they barked.
And come to find out, she was wreaking havoc at the girls places too. At
that time we were trying to get the remodeling jobs we'd begun on the old
house completed so we could get it on the market, so on the week-ends the
girls would each keep her one night, Friday, Sat, and Sunday nights, so
Richard and Craig could work in peace on the house. They didn't want to
tell me, because they knew how stressed I was keeping her the rest of the
time, and they knew we had to get those projects finished so we could get
the house on the market, as the new one was already being built.
Kym told me she suspected the wtich had hit her baby. She said 'she'd gone
upstairs to get something, leaving baby in the infant seat in the same room
with the witch. Suddenly she heard the baby start screaming and she ran
back downstairs to check on her. Baby had a red mark on her cheek, and
witch said 'oh, she hit herself in the face with a toy.' So after that
little *incident* none of the children were left alone in the same room with
her. But as I said, I didn't know any of this till after she was gone. And
then the girls told Richard, not me. He was the one who told me.
The last week she was here I was really losing it, so I called my friend in
tears. She packed up sugar and came immediately. I gave her my credit card
and said 'find her a flight out of here and get her on it, please." "I
don't care how much it costs, just get her out of here." So we put her on a
plane and shipped her back up to the U.P. She's still there, whining about
'coming back' down here. How, "she was just *upset*, but 'next time' she'd
be much better!" Yeah, right. Perhaps in another lifetime, otherwise, no
way in hell.
So that's where she is, back up in the U.P. Far enough away from all of us
that we are slowly recovering. She's in one of those subsidized apartments
for the elderly, sniping about each and every other person who lives there.
I'm sure she's a real *hit*, but I can't help that. Down here she was
destroying our happy family. I'm reminded of those verses people send
around to each other, "a real friend will help you hide the body!" And
will forever be indebted to my dear friend Jo, who stuck with it and got her
on that plane. Richard & Kym took her to the airport. They got back so
quickly, I thought something went wrong, and nearly had a complete
breakdown. But no, they told me they simply zipped up to the loading zone,
hauled her ass out of the car, stuck her in a wheel chair, and Richard gave
the guy a twenty to take care of her, and hopped back into the car and they
sped off, high-fiving each other as they sped away. ;-] Jo had already
made arrangements online for *care* throughout the whole trip for me.
