Marcel Beaudoin <marcel.beaudoin@xxxxxxxxx> spoke these words of wisdom in
news:Xns99B98B3C12F5marcelbeaudoingmailc@xxxxxxxxxxx:
We are working hard on teaching Emilie that she simply can't take things
from Moogli, and teaching Moogli that he simply can't take food from
Emilie until she offers it to him. Sometimes it goes well, sometimes it
doesn't.
One of Moogli's few tricks (based on our laziness) is shake. We have been
working at teaching Emilie the way that we do it. Up until now, Moogli
would either look at her like she had two heads, or look at us and wonder
what the hell was going on until we did it with our hand holding hers.
A couple of nights ago, just after supper, we had Emilie giving treats to
Moogli. She can get him to sit (when she pronounces it right), and was
telling him to shake. Well, I think it finally clicked, 'cause he did it
for her without any encouragment from us at all.
He is also getting a lot more comfortable with Emilie petting him
(possibly as a result of her learning the concept of "gently"). Last
night, he even took his favourite chewey and laid down beside her to chew
on it while we were watching TV. She pet him and he just kept on chewing.
And for those who are wondering, yes, Gen is still pregnant. Moogli is
reacting very differently to this pregnancy than the first one. With
Emilie, Moogli wouldn't go anywhere near Gen. With this one, he is
cuddling up to her like he is trying to get inside of her.
Awww this is a wonderful report of everything going swell. It's really
great to hear it. Thanks!
