Do all Labs have to throw their chests up, front paws leaving

Carmine does this and there's another Lab we've seen in the
neighborhood that does the same thing.
It's as if they're incapable of serious barking without the
front end posturing that accompanies it.
None of the Sheps ever did this nor does Taffy. It's curious
looking to us.

I don't know about labs but I can tell you that border collies perform
the same front end hop when howling along with the tornado siren test at
9 am on the first Monday of every month. You have to watch from behind
a curtain, though, because if they know you're watching they get
self-conscious and stop singing.

My little 15lb Jack mix does it also. I think there is a direct
correlation
to height of "hop" and bark decibel...
