Re: Lucky successfully disintacted

smaller ones. No sign of discomfort except when the actual spot was
touched. Silly girl!

Yup! I think Faith and Robin's dogs, though different breeds, are
both similar sort of breeding (ie working lines, lots of drive). I
seriously doubt Faith would stop in the middle of working sheep to
nurse something hurting. And yet she's a really soft dog otherwise.

Nellie, my field line rescue golden, is prety high drive with toys.
We learned the hard way to keep a close eye on her play. I had her
with a group of 12-15 dogs once at a friend's. We were throwing
bumpers for them and she was racing after them with her usual
enthusiasm. At one point, when we were taking a break, she was laying
down at my feet and when she got up I thought for a second that I saw
her slightly limp. At that moment someone threw a toy and she was off
full speed again. A bit later we were giving them another breathing
break, and I noticed her licking her feet. I looked at them and she
was all bloody. She ripped her pads, all the skin off the knobby
ankle pad (which has a name I'm blanking out on), and ripped skin off
the back of her legs. And yet when someone picked up a toy (to put
them away) she was on her feet in a flash ready to go again. This is
also the same dog who goes visiting my friends and digs out all their
old toys forever lost in far reaching crevices under couches and sech,
and who one managed to dig a hole under the neighbors fence in less
than 2 minutes when she accidentally nosed her ball into their yard.
I really think she'd have been a great drug dog! Needless to say I
had to teach her toy zen before I could use them for rewards in
training! :P

Hope
