"pfoley" <pfoley6@xxxxxxxxxxx> whittled the following words:
Danny looked that good in his final hour?
Yes he did. He was put to sleep after months of battling an untreatable
urinary tract infection. After we exhausted everything, we realized we
were dealing with an immune issue. Life could not be supported if he
could not fight the infection. I had no reason to prolong his suffering,
so I made the call. He was on medications, and he only had two good
hours a day. I timed his medications so the last two hours of his life
were the best ones of that day. We went to the park to say goodbye. That
was taken in the park
Danny died July 16 2004
His son, Tuck, was born December 29, 2005
I had a necropsy done to see what happened that he had no immune system.
He was filled with cancer.
How long ago did Danny die?
They are all very handsome looking dogs. I can tell they are well
cared for.
I love the photo with the little boy; that is a winner. Who is the
cute little boy?
The boy is my adopted son.
The photo of the horses is nice; I can't see the tail on the leftNo, she had a foal breech birth. We wrapped her tail, and while wringing
horse, or is it that he is just swishing it around.
it during a difficult birth, she got a kink in the wrap that cut off
circulation in the tail killing it. Her tail was docked right above the
dead section.
The horse with the tail died at age 42. The horse with no tail is now 44.
Do you train Reka also, like you do Tuck? She is beautiful.Reka is the most beautiful Elkhound I've ever had. She's got a marvelous
sense of humor, and keeps me in stitches all the time. I do train her
lots, and when Yorik's mom came to my house, she couldn't believe Reka
could possibly be as talented as she is, and I never say anything about
her.
Reka is the dream dog of a lifetime for someone. But she lives so deeply
in Danny's shadow that her abilities seem maudlin. I was so depressed
about losing Danny, that Reka pulling funny stunts cheered me up. so when
she put her own personal spin on something and would do something wrong,
instead of asking her to fix it, I roared in laughter. She's my comedy
act. she's positively hilarious. She KNOWS how to do something right. And
WILL do it right the FIRST time. But ask for a repeat performance, and
you get something totally original. She's not a competition dog. But she
certainly IS a very entertaining dog. I wouldn't change her a bit.
She has 9 points in the show ring, one a major. She placed well everytime
I showed her.. just one thing wrong with her. She is a HE/SHE. As she is
a hermaphrodite. I just felt something that bizarre was just plain wrong
to finish a championship, even though she would have very easily. Next
year I AM taking her to the National Specialty and showing her in
veterans.
She's absolutely the most feminine dog I've ever had. Very strange, since
she's half male.
She's just one funny dog. In more ways than one!
I have to say that each one of your pets has the most interesting personal
story. I think you could write a book about them that would sell.
