They usually don't stay out very long. Emmett has the
second-densest coat (Saber's is the thickest) and he's
especially fond of sprawling on the snow in the sun. He's
pretty good at doing as little as possible, so when I open
the door he rolls the eye that's showing over at me, I ask
"Do you want to come in?" and he rolls his eye away and not
another muscle moves.
Everybody seems to respond most to Image, and sometimes I
wonder if it's because she's got brown eyes. On the other
hand there are a lot of people who like sneaky, conniving
dogs (WHO DOESN'T?) and she's certainly that. She's very
reserved, though, and a little shy, and she looks like
butter wouldn't melt in her mouth even as she's scarfing
down dogshit or taking off with the team and abandoning me
on Connecticut Hill. She's got the best sense of humor of
my dogs, I think.
