Is there some marketing thing going on where the stores remove CDs from
their shelves if the group will be playing in town shortly?
I think there's some marketing thing where the big chains are not really
in touch with what's happening locally, and they don't anticipate stock
needs very well anyway, and the 2 combined = no stock when they need it.
I'm basing this on experience with a friend's book. The big chains tend
to look at sales figures only, the past predicting the future, and thus
don't anticipate very well -- as the past is only one predictor of future
activity.
