OT- info on rock music marketing

Having heard a few songs on the radio, I've decided I like the group Vega4. I'd seen the name in CD stores like Best Buy and Barnes and Noble, but that was before I decided I liked them. They'll be playing in a big free concert in town put on by a radio station later this week. I thought I'd buy a CD and plan on going. Best Buy and B&N were out of their CDs, didn't even have them on display. The clerk at B&N had never heard of the group, checked her computer and said that she could order a CD for me but that it would be for home delivery only. Normally they can order it, and if you don't pick it up at the store, there's no penalty.
Is Vega4 really a big name group that others have heard of, or are they a little known group that I happen to have heard of?
Is there some marketing thing going on where the stores remove CDs from their shelves if the group will be playing in town shortly? I would have thought they'd have them displayed front and center as a promotion.
Anyone else heard of Vega4 and have an opinion?
