Yes. Here's an issue I have. A lot of people strive for "ring
obedience" but don't really address the real life behavior of their
dogs. Respect for owner is paramount. Dogs attacking a whatever
(happens to be a puppy here) that is in the owner's arms, is the height
of disrespectful. Can you imagine them reacting to a baby's wailing
that way?

Dogs reacting with great curiosity, or going after something in the wild
(or even the yard) is a whole 'nuther ballgame than what you describe.

Obedience is obedience. You seem to like to pick on obedience titles
because you have never earned any. Nadda. None, Zilch.
I have an obedience titled dog.
Yesterday in the back pasture, he started chase on a rabbit. The rabbit
shot through the fence and ran around the barn. Having the gate open, Tuck
ran around the other side of the barn, through the gate, and intersected
the rabbit in his path. The rabbit reversed and shot toward the road. Tuck
was in pursuit, gaining on the rabbit. The kid was running flat out. I
called him and he almost tumbled and rolled to get stopped in order to come
to me.
Having an obedience title (low ranking title by the way as I am not
intending to train him at the jumping levels until he is two) does not mean
he lacks obedience. Obedience is obedience is obedience. non-compliance is
disobedience. black and white. Titles has nothing to do with it.
