us are using machines not supported by IT. Our managers and
grandmanagers are okay with that.

ObDog: This Iditarod is turning out to be a corker. Lots of
early scratches, including two of the big guns (Doug
Swingley and DeeDee Jonrowe, both of whom had to pull out
because of injuries). Sleds are being destroyed by awful
trails, and there's a 10 mile stretch of no snow and lots of
18" tussocks. Amazing.

The attempted chkdsk from the command prompt reported that I did not have the privilege & advised I had to run in 'elevated mode' - I had never heard or read such a term & have been a PC enthusiast since Windows 3.0 from 1990. ... PS - I should add that upon rebooting after an unexpected shutdown - Vista asks if Safe Mode is desired during rebooting. ...
