I was just wondering, is it safe to let a puppy lick your face and/or
mouth?
It kind of depends on your personal preferance. I let my dog give me
kisses, lick my face, and/or hands all the time. She's very affectionate
and this doesn't bother me. However, my dog is with me all the time and I
know where her mouth has been. If I let her run off leash outside and
didn't know what she's been sniffing and licking I might think twice about
this. If this behavior bothers you, some training is in order then and it
shouldn't be a problem.
I have a 5 month old male Pomeranian puppy and he is very licky!! He'll
lick everything which I'm slowly managing to cure him off but he still
keeps licking my face and mouth.
My brother says its fine because dogs carry a natural anti-septic in
their saliva, but I'm not so sure.
I'm not so sure if this is true. I've heard it said before but I've
also been told it's an old wives tale. Judging by my dog's breath some days
I'd tend to say it's not true but I can't say that for certian. Handsome
Jack Morrison, one of the group regulars, is very knowledgeable in thes
things and he may be able to tell you if this is true or not. Best of luck
with your puppy! - - Les Hilliard
Especially as I've had a dodgy tummy
the last couple of days and I've now noticed he's licking himself more
'down there'
Any help would be great
Thanks
