don't know how happy any of it was, but my grandfather, who died befoe
I was born, had 2 families at the same time. We just found out about
it a few years ago, and this had happened in the 30's. I don't know
what his second "wife" did when he died. Surely, she knew she wasn't
actually married to him (my grandmother was the original wife), but
the children from this second "marriage" thought it was legit.
The good that came from this is that the daughter from that union
contacted my aunt and they have become good friends. I've met her and
it is a little strange, but she really resembles my mother (deceased
in 1968) and my aunt. I'm glad my aunt has a "new" sister, since she
lost hers at such a young age.
My cousin noted that they each refer to my grandfather as "*my*
father" in coversation with each other. Neither one seems willing to
acknowledge that he was shared I guess.
