Which is why there's actually a television program devoted to cases of
unusual medical diagnoses. Usually the person whose illness is being
profiled has been suffering for years, sometimes decades, before they
finally find a doctor who's willing to look for outlying conditions
that most doctors wouldn't even consider testing for.
(Aside: one thing that really disturbs me about this show is that almost
all the patients are women, and one of the reasons they suffer so long
is because when most of the common tests come up negative, they're no
longer taken seriously, and are told that it's "stress" - the modern
equivalent of "there, there dear, it's all in your head". There are male
patients on the show, too - although far fewer - but the length of time
they have to endure terrible symptoms is significantly shorter on
average. After all this time, it's still more difficult for a female
patient to get a doctor to take her complaints seriously.)

I prefer to live with Feline Sapiens, thank you very much.
I wasn't going to say anything, but my qwak GP misdiagnosed my thyroid, which is 'very' low and gave me the wrong medication, I am going back to see him tomorrow for blood tests, taking with me my 'covered medication' book thru my insurance, some paperwork on how he misdiagnosed, and make him make it right, give me the right med or there will be h3ll to pay!! Reading the papers on the 2 thyroid conditions, I could die if not treated properly.
I will also find out about results of 7 tests by a wonderful neurologist next Monday. I had 2 very bad experiences with compounds they injected with one for a Cat Scan and one for another test, I can't remember, he was very concerned about that. One med on the Cat Scan made me go totally mental and I was rushed to the ER, with very high BP.
The Iodine on one test made me flushed and almost faint. Geez, and yes, I am hormonal, but the natural supplement I got made my osteoarthritis (bone) in my legs hurt worse...mrrrrrrrt as Mosey would say.
sigh
Love
