No, we're not driving all the way to Charleston for follow-up so there's no need to throw up in your carrier. (That was gross.) But she needs to have her thyroid levels checked at her local vet to make sure the radioactive isotope therapy worked.
I can tell it worked. She's not dashing around like a mad-cat all day long, yowling, constantly eating, throwing up and losing weight. She's maintaining a healthy weight at 12 lbs. Her fur is nice and shiny again. She is still missing a significant plug of fur where they shaved her shoulder to inject the radioactive idodine but it's growing back.
So she has an appointment on Saturday at 10AM to get her thyroid levels checked. I'm confident the test will come out just fine. Since she's been home from the clinic she keeps kneading my side when we go to bed. I pet her and give her scritches and tell her how pretty she is and how much I love her. And yes, when she wants me to wake up she taps me on my nose. If my back is to her she taps me on my shoulder or my nose (if I don't bury it under the covers).. Hey you, get up! If my back is to her she leaps over me so she can get at my nose. :)
I'm the only momma she remembers. She knows I love her. And she knows what I did made her feel better even if I did leave her in a strange clinic for 2 weeks. I'm not anthropomorphizing. She understands.
Purrs, please, for good test results on Saturday.

That sounds excellent. I'm really glad you opted for this treatment. Please update us and let us know the results of Saturday's test.
You may have made a mistake by telling Persia in advance, though. ;o) Holly always seems to *know* what I'm going to do even before I get the carrier out, and she grows 8 legs when it come time to put her in it. And Duffy grows 16 legs!

Persia doesn't pay much attention to anything when she's sleepy and kneading my side like I'm raw bread dough :) Of course I have to hide her carrier in the bathtub well before her appointment so she doesn't see it. Yes, the usually *do* know! But it's all for the best. Just a simple blood test and we're outta there.
