Xmas morning...not particularly festive- Dave woke up and said...was
it?
A. Happy Christmas
B Your presents are waiting to be opened
C. The cat box needs doing
You probably all guessed it was C! So I said "Okay I need to get some
litter and I'll do it when I get up" (It's not bad but Sarsi has VERY
high standards when it comes to the box, I had scooped it the night
before but of course she used it since then)
Dave got up and I rolled over and snuggled down...I have somehow
survived the last 3 weeks at work (the office manager had been off
sick 4 months and I have covered her job although not the bits that
would entitle me to extra pay of couse! the last few weeks have been
sheer Hell there have been times when I really thought I couldn't cope
much longer but I have managed to even catch up on the backlog this
week), it's Xmas Day which means the start of 10 days off work...so I
settle down to a long lie in and....
"LESLEY!"
"Ummm..what?"
"Dunzi's puking on the carpet!"
Dave can't bend down properly at the moment probably considers this a
bonus at this very second as it means he can't clean up cat puke
unless the cat pukes on the sofa.
So guess who has to clean up? Worse still it's Dunzi...neither of the
Fabulous Furballs does this very often although my impression is Dunzi
has the more sensitive stomach, which may be due to indigestion
caused by swallowing a TARDIS,,,,,She is tiny but can produce a
furball much larger than it ought to be for a small cat....her output
in this area would surprise a tiger! That she does have a TARDIS in
her stomach is the only explanation.
So whilst muttering "Happy F***ing Xmas" I clean up the mess then
crawl back to bed.
Moments later a cat gets on the bed...Dunzi almost never gets on the
bed- it's like the bed and skritchie rights therein belong to Sarsi at
best Dunzi will jump up for a few seconds...
Not this time....Sarsi is asleep on top of the bookcase it is Dunzi on
the bed....Dunzi also has a very quiet purr but not this time, she is
purring so loudly I am not for a second sure it isn't Sarsi on the bed
(they swop sleeping places all the time- Sarsi's current perch on the
bookcase was Dunzi's until last month and she'd beat Sarsi up if she
so much as looked at it) and wanting serious skritchies, indeed whilst
she normally even when she wants skritchies (Sarsi is always on the
look out for a skritch, Dunzi sometimes doesn't want a skritch and
will walk off if you give her one) she likes a minute or two today she
is on the bed for about 15 minutes, purring like mad and demanding
skritchies- she even let me tickle her tummy for more than 30 seconds
usually she's not keen on the idea to the extent of doing a bear trap
after 5 seconds if at all..
I'd like to think she was saying "Fangu for cleaning up the mess"
Dave reckons she was saying "It's Xmas- where are my presents?!"
(They have presents now- she got a mousie with DaNip and is currently
on her back with her legs in the air and hugging the mousie and Sarsi
looked at her new fether onna stick then walked out with her old one,
which is now string onna stick..but apparently she's loyal to her old
one! In a minute or two I am going to start getting ready for our
traditional "At Home"tomorrow by making some sandwiches so ham will be
forthcoming shortly)
