One of the reasons I am reluctant to change from Earthlink (despite the
fact that they don't seem to offer DSL in Arizona, and dial-up is too
slow to view video clips) is that their Spaminator is so efficient - any
source not in my address book gets sent to a " Suspect E-Mail" file,
which I can monitor, then delete (or report as spam) without downloading
it to my computer In-Box. (Anything with a virus goes into a "Virus
Blocker" file, with notification to my in-box - If it's from someone I
know, I can notify them, but it never reaches my computer at all.)

It sometimes amazes me how many of these messages get circulated, and how
many people fall for them.
I work for a fairly large ISP. Our users report phishing scams like this
to us frequently. And we find huge numbers of our customers falling for
them and giving away their passwords. Come on, people, we are your ISP -
we already know your password! Why would we be asking you for it?
I'm glad you are reporting it, Kyla. I wish more people would. And if any
of you ever talk to other Internet users, please remind them from time to
time that your ISP will never ask you for your password. Anyone who does
has no business knowing it.

Well-chosen firewalls can accomplish the same goal. All designed to
keep you from
*opening* (reading) any of it. Doing so can expose your PC to viruses,
trojan horses,
malware, malicious software, 'bots harvesting, and crippling spyware,
all from opening
(NOT just "replying"!) to spamming email.
If you have given in to curiosity and done this.....wondering why your
PC not up to snuff?
Can we say...."DUH"?
