that tic noise is very interesting, i hear them and even when DH doesn't see

I started this thread as we seemed to have stepped one someone else's
point.
I love the humming birds because people have such weird ideas about
the. 1. They don't make any noise other than the hummm of their
wings. Wrong!
2. A TV show stated not long ago that they never land. WRONG again.
I love it when someone says What is that noise and, hey look, they are
sitting on the perch. Not for long but they do sit.
One day I was in the garden and I heard an usual tic tic tic sound. I
looked around and it was a hummingbird making that sound.
And they certainly perch. They take long drinks at my feeder while
perching, and they sit in the tree when danger is near and they're waiting
for it to be safe to come back to feed. Mind you they're so tiny that you
have to see them go to the tree, otherwise they're almost invisible.
