Actually, it's 81, and yeah, I noticed that it's called "low dose" now.
But they still make the flavored chewable kind, so my guess is that kids
are still taking it. (I took it all the time as a kid, whenever I got sick.)

I guess technically I should give Smudge 1/3 of a tab, not 1/2, but I don't
have a pill cutter than can cut a pill in thirds. Maybe I could alternate
1/2 and 1/4 each time?

Joyce, I think you're wise to question the dosage. It may turn out to
be okay, but
it's better safe than sorry, no?
You mentioned that you saw a marked improvement in her mobility after
the first dose.
I don't think it would hurt to cut the dose down, and watch her. See
if she's still
getting obvious pain relief. She's a small cat, and it just might be
that a lower
dose will work as well for her.
Another thought I had (learned this the hard way and am still
suffering for it)....humans
always need to take aspirin with food, even the small dosage. Aspirin
is very hard
on the stomach, and I'd guess that holds true for cats too. We don't
want Smudgie
to come down with a little kitty-ulcer. :-)
