one of the things i missed about this group was the OT threads, and it is
very gratifying to see such a diverse group of people engaging in different
discussions, i have posted nothing about the olitics and yet read it with
interest, on the other hand, like others, i simply ignore those threads that
are too distressing for me to deal with, Lee

Excuse me, I can agree with you but sometimes...............
But sometimes what? We should bring politics into this ng? Sorry, but
I don't think so. It's far too contentious a subject.
Jill
Perhaps, but who is forcing YOU to join the controversy? If a thread
doesn't interest ME (even to engage in sarcastic comments about it), I
simply ignore it. One of the nice things about this newsgroup is that
we seem to discuss so many areas of our lives besides our pets. (Seems
to me you received a great deal of support from your fellow-posters here
when you confided in us about your personal problems and family troubles
- that is something you seldom find on most groups.)
Many things posted here that I don't like The only ones you've ever
heard about
from me have been posted by individuals I know to be trolls from other
ngs. I
lurk in many places, unlike many of you. When someone who is a reg in
rpca
posts something I don't like, I do.....nothing. I post.....nothing
about it. And
lately there have been some really strange threads having nada to do
with cats.
When one person - anyone - decides who should post what here and
judges
posts to be "contentious", what does that result in? Cuba.
I have bunches of RL people to discuss my personal problems and issues
with.
Do I object to reading about those of others here, for whatever reason
they choose
to post them in rpca? NO. Like, Evelyn, I ignore what I cannot or
don't wish to
contribute to. Think outside your own little box, as the saying goes.
Let us try
for some empathy and tolerance for others. Lots of us - not most of
us, and not
the one who objected to political levity - are stuck indoors in crappy
(unless you
are like the natives here, who *love* snow and ice, LOL) outside
weather, bored
silly with the idiot box and reading (I read a lot, too) and get
chatty with each
other every time we look out the window...*and we ain't seeing what
most of
you are outside*! Do you get my drift (not a joke, LOL)? Drifts are
here. We are
in. We get rowdy, like little kids, and bored. I miss going to the
beaches; do I
yammer on here incessantly about it? Outside the box.- Hide quoted text -

Definitely so. Outside the box. I think we can handle
it without a censor telling us what we can and cannot talk about.
After all, time is such a precious commodity with some of us, we
cannot possibly read every post anyway. Ignore the political threads.
Sherry
